A Star Tuition Rugby’s reading and creative writing club is for 7-11 year olds. Children will:
Writing is linked to all forms of creativity from art, to music to drama, so why shouldn’t children enjoy writing as much as they do these other disciplines? Telling a story can be more than just pen on paper and children will be able to bring their stories to life.
"Evidence suggests that children who read for enjoyment every day not only perform better in reading tests than those who don’t, but also develop a broader vocabulary,increased general knowledge and a better understanding of other cultures. In fact, reading for pleasure is more likely to determine whether a child does well at school than their social or economic background".
In our reading/creative writing club, children will engage with stories that will help them build their own vocabulary and improve their grasp of how stories work making them more successful in their writing.
Building a broad vocabulary is essential for 11+ exam success and so many of our students choose to join our reading/creative writing club alongside their 11+ tuition.
